Sometimes I forget how lucky I am. I work from home. I have flexible hours, I only have to work 15 hours a week to earn a living. I’ve had problems in the past holding a job for more then 2 months. This job is a keeper, I’ve been working for my Dad since 2005.
But I’m scared, I realize I won’t be able to work at this job for the rest of my life. And, the idea of a “normal” job is terrifying to me. Eventually, I’m going to have to find some other way to make a living. I started saving money, thats a start 
I talked this over with my Dad, he gave me some ideas on how to make money online:
- Sell musical loops, intro’s, songs on a website like http://istockphoto.com
- Sell pre-made web designs on a website like http://templatemonster.com
- Sell a package of samples for music production on my website or through another service.
Another idea is making money from Distant Empires. But, I have no idea how to properly sell and market a video game.
I haven’t figured out how to make money from selling music albums. I have a few sales but not enough to cover what I paid to put music on iTunes.
Don’t worry! I love music, I’ll continue to make music whether I make money or not.
A question people ask me is “Where do you work?”. I don’t have a normal job so I sometimes struggle with this question. Writing something down can help me organize my thoughts.
I work for my Dad. He owns several Internet Marketing websites: Free Traffic Bar, Internet One System, Resale Rights Hosting, and ScreenSwarm.
My work activities include:
- Answering support tickets.
- Website moderation: People submit websites to ScreenSwarm, I check these sites to make sure they follow our rules.
- Updating website content.
- Graphic design – making websites, headers, banners, buttons, ecovers, software boxes, etc…
- Video tutorials.
- Anything my Dad asks me to do.
I had a busy and fun summer! I’ve been playing lots of ultimate frisbee, met some new friends there. It seems like most of the people I meet nowadays are really nice
Most of my friends are busy with work but I finally found someone to go jogging with. Usually I quit jogging for the winter but this year I’m going to try jogging when summers over.
I was doing lots of swimming in nearby lakes but now its too cold. I went for 10 minutes last week and the only reason I stayed in so long is because my body went partly numb lol. I like jumping in the lake after a jog but I think I’ll just stick to jogging now.
A friend and I hiked up to the summit of mount Arrowsmith a few days ago. It was an awesome hike but my legs felt like jelly afterwards. I got to feed a Whisky Jack an almond. He took it from my hands 
I’ve been kind of unfocused at times but I’ve been able to make 15 to 20 possible songs for my second music album. This is good but none of them are finished 
I’m going to have to muster most of my determination if I’m going to finish all those songs. Bah, maybe next year! We’ll see…
I’ve been doing a bit of work on Distant Empires, adding the occasional ship ability and tweaking small things. But, I’m still waiting on my brother to finish the login system and fix a resource problem. This must be done before we can release the game to the public.
I got my hair cut! I was tired of my hair getting in my eyes and blocking my vision.
Last time I got my hair cut was at least 10 or 11 months ago. Less then $20 a year for hair cuts, not bad eh?

My plans for 2011:
- Finish creating videos for my lmms tutorials, improve the autotune tutorial then add some new ones: dubstep wobble bass, cool sounding filter automation, how to make cool tripleosc instruments. (Feel free to suggest more tutorials in the comments)
- Create a big sample pack with great sounding samples then sell it through my samples page or another website. The existing samples will likely remain free.
- Possibly finish my second music album, or maybe I’ll finish it in 2012 if I need more time.
