I made changes to the brycecoulson.com layout:
- The site is now broken up into several content boxes.
- The 600×160 Google ad is no longer fixed, I moved it to the right side.
- I used <hr /> tags to separate each blog post.
- Blog navigation moved to right side.
I removed all flash audio players and replaced them with html5 audio tags.
I also put together some samples from my music album and put them on the Music page using audio tags.
A year or two ago, I made a website for some friends who make interesting puppets, their website is called Give a Little Giggle. I liked the design back then but now I feel its tacky. So when they contacted me to do an update, I said yes!
I finished the new design, it has a cleaner look with lighter colors. New design is on the right:

My brother and I have been working on a computer game for almost a year now called Distant Empires. It’s an online multiplayer space conquest game that only works for Linux right now but we plan to make it work for Macintosh and Windows.
I created a website for Distant Empires, its similar to the design of brycecoulson.com. You cannot download the game yet, but there are a couple screenshots at http://distantempires.com. I may put up a video to show off the game play later.
I added sound samples to show off the free VST instruments/effects listed on the LMMS tutorial on where to get VST instruments/effects and how to add them page. I used the html5 audio tags instead of Flash. I like these tags because they use less code then the xspf jukebox flash audio player I’ve been using. I may use audio tags for the rest of my site but I haven’t decided yet as html5 isn’t supported by many browsers yet (I believe Firefox 3.5+ and later versions of safari work with them). I think I can get away with it because most of my website visitors use Firefox. Users that don’t see the audio player will be able to download audio as ogg, (maybe mp3 if people want me to).
