I updated the distantempires.com website by adding a gameplay video. I removed the screenshots because I figured the video does a better job of showing off gameplay.
Also, I started adding a login system but it doesn’t work yet. Nathan will finish the login system since he’s a better programmer then me.
I made small changes to the web design as well.
These website updates may seem insignificant but It took me several hours to complete. I haven’t done much work on the game lately and it feels good to accomplish something.
I finally make a gameplay video of Distant Empires and uploaded it to YouTube. For those who don’t know about this, its a game my brother and I have been working on for several years now. Check it out!
My brother and I are almost ready to test multiplayer for Distant Empires. I’ll be looking for testers in the next couple months or so. This will be mostly to test balancing, gameplay and to see how to game handles lots of players.
Distant Empires is a computer game of space conquest where you drive a spaceship and try to help your alien race take over the galaxy. We’ve been working on this game for almost 2 years now.
There are still some problems we need to fix:
- Various network problems, memory leaks, some weapons don’t work on the client yet.
- Planets are placed too close together, we’ll have to space them out.
The game only works for Linux right now but we plan to make it work for Macintosh and Windows. I’ll announce on this blog when its time to test, we’ll probably put a download link on http://distantempires.com/.
I’ll put up a gameplay video after we fix most of the problems.
I added another Feel the Beats video to YouTube. This time its for Final Fury on impossible difficulty. I am NOT playing, its on auto play! Theres no way I could beat this song without using auto play.
