LMMS tutorial on where to get and how to use drum or synth samples not included with LMMS.
Most music making programs already have samples, they can sound good but are generally overused. Many websites offer quality samples.
Download royalty free Samples:
- Drum samples - A page of drum sample packs made by me. Huge ethnic drums and industrial metal striking metal drums.
- http://atomsplitteraudio.com/ - This site is great! Royalty free gabba kicks, household, ethnic, metal striking metal drums and video game samples. Many of these samples were used in my music album.
Find where your LMMS folder is located:
- In the LMMS file menu, go to Edit then click Settings.

- Click the
Icon and make a note of the LMMS Working Directory. If your using Ubuntu, it could be something like /home/name/lmms/:

- Exit LMMS.
Find the samples folder and put new samples in it:
- Open your file browser and navigate to the LMMS Directory.
- Open the samples folder and put new samples in this folder:

Using samples into LMMS:
- Open LMMS.
- Click the
icon in the left menu. - Click
beside your new samples. (If you don't see them, you may have to restart LMMS) - Double-click a sample to add it to the Beat+Bassline Editor.
